The Berries are especially good this year

Wednesday morning as I walked out to my truck I stared up at the blue sky and throught what a glorious September day. It had lightly rained the night before, so I’d not had to water. My fuchsias were happy, petunias perky, and my begonia estatic.

As I pulled out of the parking space in front of my house I noticed a line of purple bird blobp!s across the hood of my truck and up the wind shield. They were really hard to miss. Blackberry or huckleberry? And no time for the car wash.

While backing around the corner and shifting into first I noticed a big purple blobp! in the middle of my lawn. Zuzu moves back into her space, I get out and determine that bears no long shit in the woods….OH NO, THEY GO IN THE MIDDLE OF MY YARD.

Big purple blobp!s

When I came home that night it was to find Ducky and Gambler (our neighbor from across the street) congregated in the middle of the lawn searching for Bear Bells amidst the huge purple blobp! Ya, gotta wonder.

I’d not noticed the two bags of tulips I’d not gotten to plant last weekend had been drug out from behind the hydrangea pot next to the front door and left in the middle of the flagstone. Apparently tulip bulbs were not to his taste (lucky me.) I put them back behind the pot, next to the front door and there they have remained.

Despite rain at night, watering my lawn, and gusty winds the bear blobp! is still in the middle of the lawn, soon to transform itself in to a ring of the greenest grass. Now if I could get it to just poop evenly on the really brown spots.

Sith,
Cele

Bears shit on your lawn?? Do you live in the woods?

Is that scary? I don't know from bears, but that seems scary...

Wry where I use to live (like many places) was just woods 27 years ago. Next to my house is still a tract of wooded acerage (about 10 or so acres of over grown rhododendrons, huckleberry, salal, and bull pines) The habitat for the native black bears is dwindling and of course they have fewer places to go. People who think it is cute to feed the bears, raccoons, and other animals make the situation worse.

Bwaaahhh ahahahaha

OMG every time you wrote "blobp!" I laughed. he he

Too funny. You kill me. Okay, so a joke: Do you know how to actually catch a bear?

Build a fire in a round pit and then let it burn out. Then, take some green peas and place a few around the fire pit.
When the bear goes to take a pea, you kick him in the ash hole. Hee hee hee hee

Wow! That is a serious pile of bear poo! Impressive! Very, very impressive. Of course, I'm sure the bear behind this scatological wonder is impressive, too. Not sure I'd want to cross his/her path any time soon!

Thank god we don't have bears... I'll take the annoying raccoons and such any day.

I don't get to see the bear all too often. One night, last year, we watched him for about 45 minutes roam the neighborhood, our neighbors never had a clue. He ransacks my birdfeeders a lot. I will probably have to wait until late next spring before I get pictures of him again. But as you can see I know he's been around/

I try to keep a distance, the photos I took last spring seem up close, but I would say I was 20 feet away from him when I was snapping pictures. The worst part is they are not afraid of humans. And I think Arlo would be quite afraid of him. I think it's a him.

But I haven't looked...

Cele - Wow, that's HUGE! And I thought it was a pain to clean up the raccoon poop in my yard (granted, he did poop there EVERY DAY).

I had to laugh at your last comment. "I think it's a him. But I haven't looked...." :) I'm still giggling over it.
